Summer time is almost here and we are all ready to be done with school. But before we can be done we have to tackle the most stressful part of the semester. Finals Week! If you are prepared and have everything planned out this week can go by smoothly and stress-free. I feel like I say this in every post but it’s all about planning out what you have to do. During finals, you may find yourself locked away in your room or stuck in the library all day long. You may stay up all night and crap all the information for your exam. I am not going to go too in-depth about study tips because I have a post for that HERE. I will be talking to you today about health tips for finals week because during finals week; there are two types of students the ones that gain a lot of weight or the students that lose a lot of weight, the students that barely gets any sleep or the students that get too much sleep.
During finals, the only thing we are thinking about is studying for your exams so that you can get that grade up or even maintain that A in your class. There is one thing that students forget about and that eating. They either stock up on junk food or they forget to eat all together. It is important that you are sure you are eating healthy during finals because what you eat can affect the way you think and the way you mind works. It’s ok to buy you a bag of Doritos but you also need to buy some fruit and veggies. You can’t only survive off snack so be sure to make it to the café at least once a day. Here is a list of healthy snacks to eat for finals if you can’t make it to the café:
- Nuts: It doesn’t matter what kind, whatever your favorite is
- Pretzels and teddy Grahams
- Veggies and dip
- Fruit Salad
- Yogurt, fruit, and granola
I know it’s so cliché but it helps tremendously. You don’t have t go out to the gym and do the same workouts as the athletes do but you do need to get outside and walk around your campus or neighborhood. When you go to the café instead of going to the one close to you go to the one across campus. When studying for finals you are usually sitting in a tense position in a chair for hours. Every 30 minutes get up and stretch so that your body won’t crap up. You don’t have to do any advanced yoga poses. Use this infographic to stretch your body and get your blood flowing.
Right before you start studying for finals go to the movies, the mall, do something with your friend to celebrate making it to the end of the semester. This will clear your mind before you get to your non-stop studying. During finals weeks, you will work the hardest you have all semester. You don’t have to sit in front of the computer screen and have your face inside our book all-day every day. You made it to the end of the semester you deserve a reward for all your hard work.
