How to be a Better You

How to be a better yiu.jpg

We all want the best for ourselves but you may not know the steps you need to take to do so. What does it take to be a better you? A better you is joyful, a better you is confident, and a better you is kind. Being a better you will reflect in all aspects of your life because when you are changing yourself in one part of your life it will reflect over to other aspects. If you want to be the best you there is keep reading.

A better you is JOYFUL

Joyful is defined as a feeling, expressing, or causing great pleasure and happiness. Now your question is how can I be more joyful? The first thing you can do is to be grateful. For what? the simple things in life. Thank God for waking you up every morning, thank Him for providing you with a job, thank Him for your family. One reason we don’t feel thankful for life is because we tend to focus on things that we don’t have or things that you see others have. Stop putting yourself down because you may not have the dream job you want but someone out there may not even have a job. When your sister says something to you out of the way before you start to talk about her or start cursing her out think is it really worth an argument, some people don’t even have relationships with their siblings. It’s the little things that we take for granted every day. These things will give us that everlasting joy that you must have to become a better you. I want to challenge you to write down three things every day that you are thankful for and each day they must be different. Share this on your Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook; be sure to use the hashtag #thankful3withreb you can also tag me in the post and I will retweet it on twitter. If you do this every day you will be more joyful because when you are down then you will have three things to keep in mind to remind you that it’s ok.

Ecclesiastes 9:7

Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.

A better you is CONFIDENT

Confidence is key! This line may be super cliché but it is 100 % true if you don’t believe in yourself you will not succeed in anything. You must be your biggest fan, you must love what you do before anyone else can love it, you must love you before anyone else can. If you aren’t confident in yourself it will reflect in other parts in your life. If you have that big presentation at work that can possibly get you promoted and you aren’t confident I promise you it will show and your presentation will not be taken seriously. There is no reason for you to have a doubt in your mind that you can’t do something, or you can’t handle something because you are made in the image of a God so powerful.

Genesis 1:27
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
A better you is KIND
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Your mother, grandpa, your teachers have been telling you this forever. Don’t you think if you hear people telling you the same thing over and over again it has some value in life? It takes more energy to frown than it does to smile!  When you see someone struggling just help them out because not only will you fell better about yourself you may have made that persons’ day. As I said for confidence and being joyful it will reflect in all aspects of your life. If you are a mother or a father and your child sees you cursing out the old lady for driving too slow on the highway, or sees you being rude to the worker at McDonald’s who doesn’t speak good English then they will copy you and they will start unkind habits. When you are unkind in the workplace and people can’t approach you then you are holding yourself back; when that young intern comes to you with a question help them out because you will need their help one day, maybe when they upgrade the technology at your job. In school, you may have that one teacher’s assistant who is always asking trying to micro manage so you are rude to them, well one day you will need to ask that TA a question and if you have been rude to them your question will not be a priority. Just kill ’em with kindness.
Luke 10:27
He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ “
